Hey everyone,
So I have an acrylic tank that used to belong to @smalltime and I want to set it up as an anemone tank. I just don’t remember if he used it as a qt tank and ran copper. I’ve had it for 10years sitting dry and it was already been sitting dry for a while when I picked it up.

Is there away to tell if it’s safe to use? You know, other than setting it up and growing corals in there to see if they survive.

Yup - I use the Hanna checker to make sure my copper is at 2.5 for QT. Also, before reusing old tanks/equipment, I usually soak in vinegar for a day or two to nuke any other contaminants.

You can always send in an ICP, but I would wait a week after setting up to make sure there's time for anything to leach into the water. I would run cuprisorb, polyfilter, metasorb, etc if you can. The only way to know is to test.
