IEMAS meeting Thursday, October 11th at 7:00 PM in Ontario

IEMAS has found a new home for their meetings, the IHOP near Ontario Mills.

Our first meeting at this location will be this Thursday at 7:00 PM.

We PLAN to have a speaker as well as (crosses fingers and hopes the mail is REALLY FAST!) a Euro Reef skimmer to raffle off. We also plan on having some frags in the raffle.

You do not have to be a member to attend, and non members are welcome.

NOTE: rules of conduct will be enforced. Courtesy and respect for others is mandatory at ALL times. Although the meeting is open to the public, we reserve the right to restrict attendance if someone is or has been disruptive.

Tickets are still a buck a pop... We'll increment it, say, 35 for $30.00, 60 for $50.00? We really SHOULD solidify those levels someday... Anyway...

ALSO... The skimmer will NOT BE THERE. I just got off the phone with them and they won't have it ready for the meeting. It's "ours", but just not in time for the meeting.

FYI it's an RS80P, I guess it's the promotional version of the RS80. Not sure what the difference is; perhaps someone can chime in on this?

Conversation surrounding that issue lasted perhaps 45 seconds.

We then looked over and approved By Laws for IEMAS. We announced that there will be elections in December and asked for people to be nominated.

We had a presentation and then the raffle; I think almost everyone walked away with something nice, and one of our new members won the skimmer.

It was a great meeting... One of our best.

Frankly, there's been far too much negativity lately, and I'll have none of that at our meetings. We spoke briefly about "those" issues (positively, at that), and then it was on to other issues more relevant to our club.

I second that. Or third that? Whatever. I think instead of all this trash talking, we should settle this with a socalireefs cagefighting tournament. It would be way more interesting than these arguments that no one even has a clue what's going on.
