Hope some bad reef karma comes your way whoever it is...maybe you'll get electrocuted in your own tank...

Thank you to those of you who expressed concern, I appreciate the support. I picked up for about two dozen different people, all of whom have different personalities and character traits, so it was practically a statistical certainty that I would run into one or two "bad apples" (for lack of a better term) and therein lies the risks of volunteering. I was very careful to inventory and check each person's purchase and distribute accordingly (not rocket science) but what I didn't do is monitor carefully what they were carrying out of my home after we talked reef talk and the usual pleasantries. This was the weak link.

Would I volunteer again? YES, without hesitation. As a matter of fact I spent at least two hours with one of the group-buy participants helping to put together his plumbing manifold project. It was spur of the moment but it was something that I love to do.

In the bigger scheme of things, I would not want to see anyone easily discouraged or Jaded by experiences like this....it is all simply part of life. Does it sadden me that this particular person's dignity is worth less than $58 to him? Of course. But on the flip side, what gives me the right to judge a person 20-30+ years on this Earth within the context of a mere group buy experience? Maybe he justified his actions thinking I am rich and can afford the loss? (LOL, I wish) At the end of the day, it is still merely a $58 pump. I'm already over it.

Can afford it or not, still not his, we are not talking about someone stealing bread to eat or feed their family. What a scumbag.

It really bothers me that people take advantage of people doing things for their fellow man out of kindness.

Kharma will get him.

I don't know you Kevin, but you are a good man from what you've written....just sad to see that in this hobby/community especially during the holiday season to see someone do that to you...just hate hearing stories like this on the forums..its not needed or necessary...if it was an accident just return it...but yea.

Thank you for doing what you do for the community...even tho I haven't met you. Good luck hopefully it shows up.

Kevin is a flat out great guy as I had the pleasure of being that reefer he built a manifold for. What started as a casual conversation about some plumbing basics turned into Kevin flipping his garage upside down to get me every single necessary piece to assemble the manifold.

Sorry to hear Kevin about the "lost pump".

Thanks guys for the support & compliments, but hey, let's try and keep it on the low-down lest we risk ruining my bad reputation around here. :spy: I've been giving the Samurai-Keyboard-Warriors and Nut-Hugger-Snobs quite a hard time lately, LOL!

As for the WP25 pump, I consider the matter closed.
Somebody evidently got themselves a free pump, but it really wasn't "free" now was it?.
Good Luck and Merry Christmas to You, my friend!

Hi Guys,
Well, believe it or not, I just received a WP25 in the mail today!
I'm not sure if it was the person who took the original pump or a good samaritan, but in either case I've got my pump back!
Thank you again to all who chimed in support of the situation....it feels good to be on the same side of so many people with simular values.

As mentioned before, I have no idea where/how/when the pump disappeared in the first place.
The entire episode may have simply been a mistake and I intend to think/remember of it as exactly as that.
I like to think the vast majority of people are good natured at heart...all it takes is a little push once in awhile to remind them of that. : )

Happy Holidays's Everyone!
