Dr Tims Waste Away, that's what I used. Worked on both tanks. Water changes from what I understand makes it worse, but I am sketchy on that knowledge.

update: whatever issue was seems to be done... 10 days since last 100% WC and no slime in sight. only difference since is day of last wc I reduced white led by 10% (so light is now at 20% blue & 10% white). hopefully chit is gone but doing small wc today (like half gallon)
