The astronomically high silicon levels is from when I was dosing water glass (silicates) into the display to try to induce diatom bloom. I didn't test for it when dosing. Definitely overdosed.

In my previous ICP a month ago, it was 13 ppm. Now, it's down to 9 ppm. So I'm just going to let it fall naturally over next 2-3 months. Just sucks that Hanna phosphates tester not accurate when silicates are higher than 2ppm.

I really need to do a water change to get everything back to normal.

Here's the thing with some traces (that are found in very small amounts and barely detected by ICP), as long as your adding them to the system and they're not going above NSW, it's probably fine. I think the moonshiners method is a little overboard and a way for Andre to make a lot of money for traces you can add yourself or buy from someone else. So, back to my rant. Add those dailies that get utilized every day at a rate for your size tank. Don't get caught up in seeing them on the ICP, just add them daily and you know that they are being consumed and not completely depleted. Charles Delbeek was talking about this on a live stream and he mentioned that if you're adding these traces daily, then that's probably enough. The ICP would check to see if you're adding too much. At least this is the approach I'm taking. I think keeping the traces that are found in greater concentrations is good, (potassium, iodine, strontium, etc) and dose the ones that are quickly depleted in lower concentrations is a good practice and won't take you too far off course.
Just a thought. There a few YT videos of Charles Delbeek talking at High Tide Aquatics and Reefbum where he talks about traces and nutrients that are worth the watch.

^ Yeah, I’m not really chasing numbers.

I’m just more perplexed that this frag RTN’ed. It’s been in my tank for over a year. It tried to encrust a few times but the fishes always break it off the plug. So I had to reglue. It’s been in that spot for 6 months. And when I thought my system is stable, it starts peeling.

Now just waiting for the Walt Disney Jr growout frag to RTN. A real blow to the confidence to grow SPS.

That sucks, sorry to hear. Have you considered doing an AquaBiomics test to see if you have any coral pathogens? I might actually do one at the beginning on my reboot and do another in 6 months to see if anything changed? Do you have a recent full tank shot?
In my 22g, I could never keep tenuis long term, but everything else grew like crazy. I also have a mind story that certain corals won't thrive in our systems because it's a closed system and that it's system dependent. It might be a chemical warfare thing, much like softies and certain anemones cause issues with others.

Not sure what I would do with Aquabiomics data. I would like to see what your results will be if you do a test.

I don't run carbon, so maybe there is some coral warfare thing going on.

Here is a full tank shot tonight.

^Haha yeah, it is a crazy vision. We will find out if an OG wall can be done.

Now, I gotta get some zoa frags and baby plate ready for @JojosReef. Going to drop them off and pick up my CB pipefish today. We shared a fish shipment from Dr. Reef. So hopefully, the fishes arrive with no issues.

It would give you a baseline of your biome. Now that more and more people have used the service, the bacterial content our tanks can say a lot about what a healthy take looks like as far as the biome is concerned. It's not exact, but it may show you have some bad actors living within your tank.

The tail on this CB pipefish from Dr. Reef seem to be misshaped or missing. Very strange that they would ship a fish with such a tail. I'm not an expert on pipefish, but I'm looking at photos of other people's pipefish and it has a round flat tail. Mine doesn't have one.

Not sure if this will cause problem for it to swim without a full tail or cause death down the road. Hmmm...

This struck a chord with me. In my old system, I could never keep Millies. I was talking to @Dooly about exactly this the other day and he had had similar issues and then treated... The cure may have been more expensive than the coral in question, but according to Jason, he doesn't have these issues any longer..
There really may be something to this. Another example I can think of is Elegance corals and Clams.. Back in the day (waaay back) both were bullet proof and now they oftentimes come in sick and are temporary additions.

Nice addition! Do those weirdos take to frozen food easily?
The mouths are so tiny, not sure they will easy frozen. I’m crushing some calanus and feeding that. I have plenty of pods so it should do well if it can hunt.

I’m more concerned about with it lacking a tail. Right now, it is hanging in a corner.

I understand they like frozen calanus. I've been dumping Reef Nutrition PacPods into the tank and B2 pellets. Might hatch some baby brine next week. I've noticed mine getting kore active when I add white worms, which includes a lot of baby worms.
