What do y’all feed the clams
A shit ton of light.

I don’t feed clams and they don’t require direct feeding, but do require nitrogen. So if you feed your fish, they get plenty of nitrogen from urea and particulates.
It’s a myth that clams need to be fed, especially when they’re small. A clam produces over a 100% of their nutrition through photosynthesis alone. Their mantles have tubes in which the zooxanthellae live in, which are directly connected to their stomachs. So the amino acids, sugars, etc go directly to the clam and they actually consume extra zoox that’s produced in the process. If you ever look closely, you’ll see the long stringy brown stuff that’s coming out of their exhalent siphon is actually zoox that’s in surplus and they’re getting rid of, either after eating it or just passing it out of their system.
Pretty much every single clam that enters the hobby, no matter the species is several years old. Crocea that are an inch long, are several years old, same for maxima.
So they require good water parameters, full spectrum lighting, preferably a daylight direction and lots of it. Clams live in very shallow, clear water, with some of them being completely exposed to air during low tide, so you can never really provide them with too much light (although, light shock can happen if moving a clam from extended low light to high light quickly).
