Picked up a few things from a good friend yesterday, so my smoothie collection is getting started. Hopefully the rainbow splice pulls through. It got hit by a neighboring coral, so I’ll see if I can get it to a good place? The Shazam is a killer piece.
I love the white topper polyps on the Shazam piece. Very cool!
Yeah, the color shift on that piece is very subtle, but very nice.

I figured I would cut away the algae so it had some "clean" space to grow onto. The polyps are out, so that's a good sign. The grannie (forgot the name?) and shazam are really nice and have nice PE. I owe you a princess peach and skinny love frag when they get big enough.

So my goal with this tank is 80% smoothies with a few classics. For the stickheads out there, what are your favorite smoothies? Btw, anyone looking for small maxima clams with unique patterns, Elliot at Golden State Corals just got a small batch in. Definitely worth the look. Also, through my constant badgering, Elliot will be focusing on acropora and tridacna clams. I don’t think anyone else besides John at clam mania has a focus/emphasis on clams in SoCal, aside from Ali.

$80-$150 based on color/grade. A couple almost look black or have blackish colors in the mantle.
He also has some squamosinas, squamosas, derasas and I think one nice blue crocea.
They're kinda cool looking, some have blotches of green, which is really cool.
Spent the day yesterday doing maintenance on the nano system and the desktop jar, both got large water changes and a little scrubbing. The desktop is humming along, removed a bunch of macros and plenty of extra xenia. I want to add a few more sexy shrimp and then I’ll be happy.
The nano system got the scrubbing treatment, lots of valonia to remove, a little GHA and loose chaetomorpha. In the process, I dropped the CC 21 tails torch and created a few frags, So if anyone is interested, lmk or I’ll create a FS soon.
While I was cleaning out the sidecar 10g, my female blue stripe wasn’t looking good, kinda bloated, breathing heavy, etc. I’m really careful when I work in that tank, as I don’t want to harm her, but I think something else was going on. Unfortunately, this morning I found her, so she must’ve passed during the night.
She was a rescue and I had her for a few years and she was fully grown when I got her, so who knows?
I also have a very large photosynthetic sponge that’s overtaking the sidecar, so if anyone is interested in it, I might add that to the FS post?
Next on maintenance is the 90g, then I’m going to drill my son’s 50 lagoon so I can add a sump.
