Wow, the Apex operating system should not have allowed the dosing pump to switch from Auto to On. It's strange to see that it happened again. I can see how the email notification alert can help people, I've never been able to figure out how to use that function, hahaha. It sounds like you had a lot of problems with the Apex. That's unfortunate. I think the biggest problem I had with mine is the salinity probe kept giving me bad readings. I'm on my 3rd probe now. Do you run yours on the local network or the other one (non-local)? The guys over at Apex told me to run it on the local network; they said something about the reliability and connection is much stronger but I'm not sure how that would have helped in your case. I figured, it would probably be better for you either way.

Sorry for the late reply.
I have mine hard wired. Too many issues with wireless.

Gotcha, I also have mine hard wired. I have my cable running all over the living room floor trying to make this happen, hahaha. What I meant by "Local Network" is not necessarily the connection between the Apex hardware and the internet cable or the wireless modem but instead, the way you log into the Apex controller display on your screen. In other words, whether you use a Ipad or PC/laptop, you will need to log online to the Neptune Apex's operating system through a computer to view the controller. There are 2 different ways to do this #1 is the regular online "APEX Fusion" network or the 2nd version which is called "APEX Local" network. Take a look at the attachment I posted here. You see how the 2nd tab says "APEX Local" and the 3rd tab says "APEX Fusion"? The "APEX Fusion" is the Non-local regular network I mentioned. I'm asking you to try using the "APEX Local" network instead in hopes that it will give you a stronger and more reliable connection from the online controller to your Apex hardware.

I tried looking up the steps to set up "Apex Local" but couldn't find anything online. If you decide to try this, I think you might have to call Apex support to have them help you set it up. They helped me set up mine while I was on the phone with them trying to fix a problem I ran into and suggested I started using "APEX Local". Anyways, I hope that helps.
