I'm setting up a tank and saw on other forums/socials that Live Aquaria shut down this week. I've never bought fish from them except clean up crews but I loved their resources on fish info and tank size etc. Anyone have any recommendations on a similar centralized resource?

On another note I did prefer buying livestock from LFS and used to get them from Vivid(they used to use copper not sure now), Rainbow, and Harrys.

I recommend talking to Dooly and he may get you the fish you are looking for, plus he offers quarantined fish (for a fee).

Yeah, sad to see another reef resource go out of business, but may be a sign that economy is tightening and overall people are not spending as much. RIP Diver's Den. Private equity taking over the business probably didn't help.

I would pick up any book by Scott Michael, pretty good resource at your fingertips. Humblefish for general fish info and QT protocols and Hunter Hammond's website if you're into wrasses.

I second this. Can't say enough good stuff about doolys fish and corals.

I'll third Dooly. I would really buy more fish from him but the QT fish he has sold me are all living long healthy lifes so it is hard to be a repeat customer.

Back in 02ish Live Aquaria was an amazing resource for the hobby. The way they presented the fish they had for sale with information was really beneficial to new hobbyists. I learned a lot from them. Really sad to see them go.

Also I haven't bought anything from them in 20 years so not to surprised.

Interesting. Maybe a last minute business loan approval or delay payment. I saw someone post their properties for rent on loopnet.
