So what bacteria is actually surviving in a sealed bag? If the good bacteria dies within 10min of cleaning out say a canister what could possibly survive in a bag of live sand? Doesn't the bacteria in an aquarium need the ammonia too or it'll starve?
Kind of hard to believe but theres bacteria in bottles thats suppose to have a shelf life of like 2 years I think, so probably the same strands in bags of sand
