Two of my acan colonies (from the same store) had this brown slime covering the heads, after one head was killed then this brown slime would move to the next head, covering about 4 heads at a time. When I would shake the colony the brown slime would fall of easily, but would come back fast, almost the next day. After the colonies where wiped out, I removed them and other colonies are fine. Oh I did do a coral dip on both of the colonies, with REEF PURE Coral Dip & Conditioner made by Warner Marine. but didn't work.

Can anybody tell me what was happening, and what could of been done to save them?:conf44:

That has happened to me as well. The reason mine got the slime was being stung.
I saved the parts that weren't covered by the slime by putting the pieces in a high flow area. That would remove and keep the slime away which I believe was decaying flesh.
I've used this technique for all types of corals and it has worked so far for me.

Thank you very much, that answers my question!
I was cleaning my tank, and in the process, I put some corals next to each other, and noticed that they were fighting, I lost half of two chalices, but I caught it in time to save them, That must have been when they got stung, because they started getting slimed right after that.

Thank for the technique I'll use it next time!
