I bought a new Geo Roller Sump for my 90, thing is sweet! It has the Clarisea 5000 system custom built into the sump. I bought some Benepets Reef food to test out, and got skunked in the raffle! Kind of Skunked that is!
heard someone won the Fiji trip again :eyebrows:

R2r had a multiple page complaint post that volunteers got too many raffle tickets.

What was our attendee opinion of this?
Why I didn't play. I saw volunteers with huge stacks of tickets, easy $1000 worth. That's hard to compete against when you multiply that by several volunteers. I'm ok with volunteers buying tickets, but they shouldn't be given away as compensation. Just my opinion anyway.

Heck I buy tickets at RAP, but I'm not compensated for my full year's worth of service. I do it for SCMAS and my love for the hobby. But I'm definitely buying raffle tickets! You guys know how I roll, usually.

Whoa is that why there was so many volunteers winning. I saw so many keep getting them but 1000s worth of tickets is just not right

Yeh that's totally not cool. I also don't like how they overlap thier speaker schedule with other speakers. And the workshop is a joke. Probably my last Macna.reefapalooza is way better.

I enjoy them both and MASNA does good things for the hobby. But this was a mistake that they will hopefully own up to and make changes for next year. They shouldnt have to give volunteers raffle tickets. They should have held a separate raffle for their volunteers or paid them.

We still had fun..
Saw what was going on with the Raffle, and passed.. not much in it anyway
The banquet was...... A disaster IMO. and then THAT happened at the end of it...
The show was fun. Talked to a TON of people from all over the country. Expecting a bunch from out of the area at RAP in about a month.
Was glad to be home by the time we got here..
Gearing up for RAP now.....

I had fun but, I didn't participate in the raffles. Everyone looked to be enjoying themselves while they were there, shopping, talking, etc. It's too bad the main talking point about the show is the raffles. There was so much more going on.

What happened at the banquet?
