thanks! yeah they grow fast. I've been removing some chunks each weekend with water change, and lately to fight off the weirdish dino-type microalgae I've been giving it a tumble in the water change bucket (which ends up removing some more). Brittle stars love it, nitrate hates it!

Thanks! I absolutely would, but since I need to shut this down / pass along in the next 4-5 months i'm not really planning any additions. I guess passing along a clown pair is not that different/harder than passing on a single clown but at this point all the fish I have will have been with me >1yr, most >3yr by the summer so mixing in a new fish feels complicated.

We just came back from a trip to Kauai, and it was magical. Already started looking at the beachfront homes for sale...LOL. Then we decided to end our Hawaiian dreams and come back to reality. It was sure relaxing while we were there tho.

Which island you will be relocating to?

Yep what John said! All good things must come to an end, hopefully for more good things to start. We're moving to the Big Island, unclear exactly when but probably around early august/last week of July. So there's still some time, but not that much in the scheme of a reef. So i'm just trying to enjoy my tanks as-is for as many months as I can, and probably May/June start the shutdown.

Kauai looks amazing, I've never been, only Oahu, Maui, Big Island. If you do make it out there come say hi! we can go look for yellow tangs together

Gorgonian's yours if you want it when the time comes. I mean it's such a weed i'd give you a big chunk right now if the tank wasn't still in its observation period for another couple weeks.

Unfortunately (for you) @OldReefGuy already has dibs on the yellow leather so he's got first right of refusal on that one!
