lol - man, your imagination does run wild! You are a gentleman and a scholar. If you can also provide a certificate of authenticity, reefer will spend their life savings to buy these rare specimen. Their spending will make our federal budget look poor!
In all seriousness though, I really like these little guys. They remind me of Strombus / Canarium mutabilis (I think they're currently same genus actually?). Strombidae just has the coolest stuff in it.

I'm not sure, but I think I gave you two different varieties of dove snails, maybe 3? The lighter (more white in their shell) ones are from Hawaii (got them from Gerald Heslinga) and the darker ones came in on live rock and a LFS that no longer exists. I thought I wrote down how long it takes them to hatch, but can't find it, anyway, I agree it's really fun to watch the babies when you can spot them. My only issue with them is they like to get stuck in my gyres.

Yeah C. maculatum is the current name for them right? Or a name I've seen pitched around, but is that a hobbyist misID, do you know what you got them from Gerald as? seems there's a fair bit of variability in them (maybe not as much as mutabile). Just looking at examples from

But the light variant listed as known from hawaii looks dead on (although 40mm upper bound seems a stretch). You definitely did give me some light and some darker ones, and the aperture geometry looks slightly different between the two. I also have the little 1cm limpets too so gyres are a nogo but it's just softies and a LTA so I'm fine with that.
I've seen them listed as several species from strombus maculatus to euplica varians and C. maculatum. The ones from Hawaii top out at 10mm, but the indo-pacific ones (darker variety) get slightly bigger around 12mm on average. I have a couple that are bigger than 12mm in my nano system.
Happy Memorial Day! Tank is looking extra good today thanks to the awesome Koji Wada from @bakbay - thank you again! And the mandarin orange zoas are setting in too. Did a bit of a rearrangement on Saturday to get acclimation zone for Koji Wada, then it's time to relocate the Grube's to unshade the rock next to the Fiji Yellow and it'll go right there. So stoked for this.
In other news, I added ~15w of cheap COB leds with 90˚ lenses to up the par a little bit and fix color balance. I always had a goal of making the right -> left (backwards I know, but AIO end to not-AIO end) to have a shallow-to-deeper look. Of course the LTA wanted the far end so I had to raise the sandbed so that's off, but I originally built the light bars so there was a little more blue clustered on the end where the LTA is now. This has worked out, but had some side effects of LTA being relatively dim. And the color balancing was a little more subtle than I wanted, aesthetically I wanted like a 1-5m color shift and I think I got more of a 1-2m color shift
So, left to right, there are 3 DIY led cannons (round 2" heatsinks from heatsinkusa) with a 440nm, 10000K white, and 6500K. Slightly staggered so the 440nm one is ~3" inside tank, directly over LTA; 10,000K is at a ~30 degree angle, halfway between LTA and Sarcophyton, angled towards LTA to balance out the harsh blue, and the 6500K is just to the right of the Sarcophyton.

Looks great! Yeah, that elegans is on fire and has that perfect yellow color. I can't imagine how many people keep this coral under mostly blues and can't enjoy the full color of them? If my little clam lagoon was bigger I would add one, but I don't have the flow they need to really thrive. Yours is awesome and looks great among the other corals. Can't wait to see that Wada get bigger.

It wasn't quite fiji yellow but there was a wild yellow/white one I have fond memory of from back home. It was the only sarcophyton in its area, but huge, maybe 2ft diameter head in about 5m deep. Right in the middle of a groove channel (in the spur and groove zone of the reef). So just rocking in the swell, it was beautiful. And striking, being the only Sarcophyton in the area, sticking out from the wall of the groove.
It's definitely not that habitat I'm recreating here, but that individual coral is part of why I love the genus so much and why I have 3 Sarcophyton in this tank, the yellow elegans, a 'generic' long tentacle green, and a weeping-willow type long polyp from @Tangwich. Actually with the weeping willow type i have the opposite problem, trying to find a low-flow pocket (that's not where the LTA ended up) to tuck it so it keeps the flowy polyps
I love this tank, gone for over a week with just a friend dropping in food (and refilled autotopoff once) and this thing is overgrown but still happily chugging along, little dragonet still fat as ever. The macro is out of control, hope to do a big weeding this weekend but i'm so thrilled by how robust this tank has been.

filling in is taking it lightly, the whole back 6" of the tank is solid macroalgae or LTA. Pods and critters love it but i need to recoup some water volume. Poor mandarin can't even thread through the halimeda anymore it's gotten so dense while I was away.
