You’re a slumlord, Dan! Please give those poor animals some more room - an upgrade is in order? lol
Says the guy with two haddonis, a gig, and two mags in a 25??

JK JK I know, that's why I pulled out a bunch of macro yesterday. Renovations to deslum the apartments! It's actually relatively open again now. Still need to remove more but don't want to do it too fast. I'll put up a photo once lights are on to prove it lol.

lol - that cracks me up! Mine is temporary housing while we wait for (wife’s) permit to renovate & plumb the 175gal, joining the 25gal. I have plenty of rocks and sand — just need to add water! That’s how they were configured way back actually.

Please send pics soon? We’re sending a team to inspect the said premises this morning to make sure it meets occupancy requirements.

I think most of us would be in violation of the occupancy laws with our tanks. :p

The yellow sarcophyton is still uncrunching from the codium and gorgonian encroachment, it took so much halimeda and dictyota removal to be able to pivot the gorgonian around so it's in a better spot for the rest of the tank

The pink skunks laid eggs! Very very pleased with this. IMO 20g is bare minimum for clowns, so I am so reassured by this sign that they're comfortable.

Unfortunately I have too many obligations right around the 7-10 day mark to be able to grow this batch (and it's their first, so it's kind of small and probably not that great). And have the sexy shrimp larvae growout experiment going. but... I'm stoked! Definitely might try to raise some on a future clutch.

I'm surprised on the egg laying timing though. They definitely weren't laid last night / this morning, and the extra bright light turns off at 4pm, and the main light turns to ~40% for the evening at 5pm and I didn't get home much later than 530 today. So either they laid eggs during the middle of the photoperiod (weird?), the intensity from the auxiliary lights turning off at 4 was enough, or else they laid the eggs less than half an hour ago? Weird. Curious what the next clutch of eggs will be like timing wise.

Nice! Hopefully they'll start laying on a schedule. My clowns lay during the middle of the day all the time, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they did.

I think they like your natural tank setting with lots of softies and macroalgaes.

Oh that's great to hear. I don't have very much experience with clowns.

And thanks jimmy! I hope they do too. A natural, shallow LTA lagoon sandy patch is what i'm going for, and i hope the clowns appreciate it :)

I've been watching my clowns more lately with the new development of egg laying and hadn't noticed how nicely my male had transitioned and had the color morph along with it. Check out his nice outline he's picked up on his second dorsal and caudal! He's looking very spiffy now.

It's moving day! for the LTA and clowns at least. Woke up to this. All the powerheads are covered so hopefully no disaster when coming home from work later but we'll see.

It's funny how they just move after being comfortable such a long time.
Right? it really picked up some better column colors in the last 3 months after increasing its light so its weird.

It parked in that spot for the day, I pushed some sand to help keep it deeper in case it wants to stay. we'll see if it moves overnight I guess.

Clowns laid eggs again yesterday! At a more reasonable time lighting wise too, about 1 hr after main lights dimmed and it was starting evening mode (6pm for me). The eggs look a little better, less sporadic so i think their practice run last time taught them something lol.

Since no trips upcoming (and my wife is VERY excited about clown babies) I'm going to try and raise some from this batch.

Any tips?

I was planning on RGComplete for roti culture, but do you think I can keep the fry tank tinted with Nanno alone? Currently that's the only culture going well enough to be confident in quantity, my diatom (Pt) is coming back now that temp is dropping but IDK if it will be productive enough
