nah not yet

i wanted to do the aquatic life t5 / led hybrid when i set the tank up, but i started with the reefi lights which are larger than xr30s so it just wasn't going to work right, so i scrapped the plan. then got xr15s which i like, but i just want that blanket of light on the corals. i don't like looking at like side tank and seeing just dark acro lol

i've done the reef flux like 3 times now and i think it's quite safe? but i probably would've said the same about vibrant a few months ago :ROFLMAO:

I've got too many bulbs to tell ya whats doing what exactly but I feel like my giesemann aquablue coral lamps might work well to lighten and cut through the windex of the blue+ lamp. I have none of that windex tint but I think that's due to my tropic lamps for the most part. It's hard to tell with all but actinics on an 8 lamp channel.
If it wasn't such a pain in the ass to get my fingers in my lamp slots I'd swap my G aquablue corals to my 2 channel and post a picture for you cause I feel like they might be a great stand alone lamp. If you've got the g5 blues, I'd be tempted to suggest those in place of b+. It's one of giesemann's "newer" lamps and it's nice. 2 of those and 2 true/pure actinic lamps and you might just get the best of both worlds with the g5s. hard to say how it'd blend though.

My favorite time of day is when my kessils go all blue but my true actinics are still on. Crazy pop and no shades needed.

i have the g5 pros so they're pretty white

i just figured everyone loves the blue+ for their broad blue spectrum, but i'm not wed to them. where'd you order the geisemann bulbs? i think brs just carries ati and the kz ones i think

i'm kinda tempted to just steer my tank into white mode and go all in on blue/purple corals or just stuff that looks great during daytime. i've been really enjoying that time of the day where it's like 60% warm white 90% cool white.

but i won't lie some corals just look so much better under the heavier blues. the orange creamsicle i got from u just looks so damn good the bluer it gets hahah

I hear ya! I can't wait for mine to start getting that coloration back, it's a great piece. I like white spectrum during the day with the ability to see those all blues for certain pieces, mostly tenuis.
Great part is that whiter daylight pulls just as much color in my experience with the 14k hamiltons. Sure daylight the tenuis kinda fall out of sight and the classics grab your eye, but go all blue and the colors were are still very much there.

I've been using premium aquatics ever since BRS bought MD. They still carry a good amount of t5/mh stuff and shipping has been quicker.

Nice fish selection. How do you like the blue assessor and black cap? I've always wanted those two but you don't see them around very much.
thanks

they're both pretty cool. the blue assessor isn't the bluest unless the white is really white more of a black, but i like him. he's not as reclusive as i thought he might be. i'd like to get a yellow, but it's hard to drop $120+ on a fish that you might rarely see. but maybe they're like the blue and would be out and about, i see him everyday

blackcap is cool too, he's kinda oddly huge. he spends most of his day excavating his cave area, but he's not super egregious about it. just drops a mouthful a few inches away from the cave. my midas blenny on the other hand grabs a big mouthful and just unloads it at the top of the tank so it gets everywhere. he's way worse than the blackcap is jawfish with sand lol. he's funny to watch with how defensive he is of his cave spot, but he doesn't hurt anyone, all bark

Man that tank is looking great. Lots color in there and not just fish! Judging by all the encrusting that tank is looking at a major vertical growth spurt soon!

Great work man!

thanks dude

it's funny how it can go from shit to good. just a few days ago i had this weird large bacterial bloom out of nowhere. it was right after i added new filter socks, kinda freaked me out even though i'm super careful about giving them a ton of time to air out after bleaching. then the next day it was totally gone lol

the tank still seems to have a thing against red acros for whatever reason, although i have some looking decent including a red milli i think i got from you? and it kinda hates some non-acro sps with weird bacterial issues resulting in stn. i actually like non-acro sps so not ideal lol. but oh well, more acros it is i guess :D

i added it like an hour ago and already some pe. It was pretty tedious feeding it several times a week in qt so hopefully it’ll be out and grab stuff in the tank now

Very cool. I had a decent dendro colony for a while. I hoped the same thing but didn’t work out for mine. I got lazy and it declined.
I don’t think I was feeding as dirty or as much food as I do now though. Hopefully yours does better. You’ve got more fish too

haha probably what will happen to mine.. at the very least if it can at least have polyps out during daylight that'd be ideal. in qt it would be all closed up so i'd have to turn off the flow, squirt food at it, turn flow back on, then come back like 20-30 min later and see if i could feed it. if they'd just be out i wouldn't mind doing a quick blast of food at it every couple days

they're pretty freaking cool, hopefully hawaii opens back up so people can get more of them as i doubt anyone is captive breeding them

now if only he wouldn't go hide in the back when i whip my phone out for pics lol
Yeah I’m anxiously awaiting Hawaii to open back up as I want a few yellow tangs as well.
