Hello,

Two lighting questions:

1. Do you think it would be ok to mount 2 coralife single strip cfs inside a wooden hood (6", hinge, open-back) on a 55g tank with a cover? The instructions say not to do this.

2. I saw some inexpensive T5 strips at Home Depot. If I were to mount a few strips (and not the above cfs) inside the hood, how could I prevent them from getting wet. The fixtures I saw were just exposed bulbs. The tank does have a cover but I don't plan to keep it covered all the time in order to permit gas exchange.

By the way, thanks to everyone on this forum who has responded to my previous questions. You have been a great help.

Mine are mounted to the inside of my hood. No protection. But I am considering making a plastice shield for just over my pumps where the water fizzes a little and does get them moist.

They are retro fits.
