In a month I'm moving from PDX to Socal, I have a pair of black storms and a pair of black, both are bonded ocellaris, they've never met. I have a 2'x4' 50-gallon frag tank ready for all my fish while I get things set up. (I'm packing with O2, in shipping boxes, in the cab of my truck.)

My question is, if I put their nems on opposite ends of the tank should I be concerned they may battle? Neither pair ever seems to adventure more than afoot. Any thoughts or ideas? I'd rather not put up a separator, I have a gem tang I'm taking with me.

Thanx, that's what I was thinking, the tang will just have to chill on one of the sides for a few weeks till I get settled in.

Follow-up question, pack the clowns in pairs or separate bags, I've read mixed about that.

Will do, I have a "fresh-squeezed" bottle of O2. I know this isn't the right section of the forum but since I'm here, urchin, use oxygen or not?

How long do you expect the drive to be? Are you stopping overnight or straight shot?

It sounds like you’re able to bag them with o2, If it were me I’d bag each separately in a larger bag and keep them in a cooler with heating pads.

Alternatively, you could ship them overnight to somebody in socal and have them hold them for you until you’re up and running. It would have to be somebody with shared trust because housing livestock for others can be messy without a mutual understanding.

I am not sure logistically what your tank transfer looks like during your move, but it sounds stressful having to juggle livestock 1000 miles. Good luck on the move!

> 16 hours tank to tank, no overnight

> that's the plan, I have SDC and Quality Marine shipping boxes, they're more stable than "coolers"

> Already did this on some of my high-end corals

> Agreed, I've sold off the fish and corals that weren't important, what I'm keeping I've committed to.

I really appreciate your feedback Chowberg but I think you ignored my original question. I was asking about two pairs of clowns. I was pretty specific.
No worries. I was just trying to get a better understanding of the logistics to see if there are alternatives. Being someone that has moved a long distance with livestock I appreciated the additional options offered. I only moved from SF to LA, so it was less than half of your distance.

If you’re trying to get responses to see if to separate the clownfish - I agree with others and separate the two pairs. I have 2 pairs of clowns in a standard 240 and they still occasionally bicker. My pairs differ from yours that 1 pair is occelaris and another is spotcinctus.
