Any reefers out there have any experience trouble shooting mp40s? Mine just went down and cant seem to find out what’s wrong. It works fine when it runs without the wet side, but when I attach it it either won’t work or starts to make a loud noise like a bang or it’ll kick off the wet side entirely.

Anyone out there deal with something similar ? If so how did u fix it? I did open up the dry side and tried to see if anything was loose or broken but nothing.

No haven’t done a vinegar bath yet. Just soak em in hot water and scrub the hell out of them

Try attaching them together first before turning on. That's the only way I got em to stay together without wobbling off.

Critic acid vs vinegar is only important for the o rings/materials o ring is made of. I believe the vinegar can degrade silicone ones, correct me if I’m wrong

Look like the problem on dry side. Turn off power and open it up. Maybe a loose screw turn magnet to opposite direction.

Sorry, I only work on MP40 driver and wet side

There have been many cases where the magnet casing of the wetsides have expanded or cracked because of soaking in vinegar. I think all things plastic, it's fine to clean in vinegar for a short amount of time, but soaking pump housings, etc, people should use citric acid instead.

I believe they were sourcing raw materials that were not up to normal quality. You would often see fairly new wet sides with rust problems. Ones never vinegar soaked. They have since seemed to fix this

the magnet can be loose on the dry side. Not using the correct spacing on the dry side even the first-gen had spacing. or it's not lining up properly. But i vote magnet got loose on the dryside.

My understanding is that the plastics and magnets can also absorb the vinegar.

Plus citric acid works faster, smells better, and might even save me a dollar a year.
