Can I see a photo of the repair? Did AA do the repair or was it a DIY job? The more I think about it, I think I may just do the repair myself.

I did find a used orange label classic used locally.

It was a loooooong weekend. Besides the APEX going out and my backup from 2020 was corrupted, my kid accidentally unplugged one of the EB8’s and the apex saw that EB8 through aquabuss which caused Horus and hours of troubleshooting. Once I found that, I had FUBARed the programming so bad that it would not find that EB8 and I ended up having to delete from fusion and initialize the base unit and reprogram again from scratch!

for more fun and excitement, one of my ballasts died right in the middle…. Lucky I had bought a set of spares in 2019 so that only took an hour.

I probably spent 14 hr both Saturday and Sunday working on it, so nice to be back at work where I can relax.
OMG, what a nightmare. I would not have been able to figure out any of that stuff. Do you seriously feel comfortable using that sump again? I would not feel safe. We're talking about your home here.

Oh, yea I dropped it off with John yesterday, its already repaired.

John is quite possibly one of the best in the world at acrylic fabrication.

Sorry was out of town. Glad you got it fixed. Did he end up welding it from the inside or outside?

I have a similar older AA sump that I bought used. It doesn’t even have the weld on the edges, it’s just glued on. I put some silicone all around the windows from the inside, just as extra precaution.

My buddy picked the repaired sump up and will be dropping it off here in the morning.

What sucks is that I caught the coof again (looks like natural immunity only lasts 18 months). And I fatigue easily. I’ve been Loading ammo in my free time. Normally I can load 300-500 rounds/ hr. Today I load 100 then take a nap for 45 minutes :(

I got the sump back from Advanced acrylics yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with the work. It looks like a brand new sump and John even reinforced it to assure it doesn’t happen again.

John took the time to show me the newer version (his shop is quite impressive) and all the PVC acrylic bonds are now air welded, same as my euroreef skimmer which has been in service about 20 years. Air-welding wasn’t an option on mine because its already assembled and the welds are done from the inside.

Sorry but Ive had a run in with John some time ago.

He's not the most friendly guy despite how good his work can be...

Never will buy or support his business. dishonesty can be a deal breaker. But im sure a lot of ya'll will disagree with me
