Need to drill a 1/2inch hole on 0.2inch(5mm) thick glass. Nano tank. new, no water.
Zip code: 92614

Does anyone know how to do this and good at it (will pay). I ll bring the tank to you. It’s totally ok if u break it! Will still pay.
or which store I can get someone to drill it for me?

I did drill a 1.75 or 2 inch on my 3/8 inch tank for the overflow. I was provided with a rectangular acrylic template with a hole in the middle that tightly fit the circular drill bit. It kept the drill bit stayed fix in place but the glass still chipped a little. I don't know this technique is good for your situation since 0.2 inch is quite thin in my opinion

I have.5” dimond hole drill bit you can borrow with sucktion cup holder. But you told have to do at your own risk. Your welcome to borrow though

Thanks. I have all the tools. I just don't trust myself! I have drilled a few fish tanks before. They were all in bigger tanks with thicker glass. This tank feels very fragile. I think I will break it. If there is no choice, I will try it.

Doing a super clean cut involves starting with a smaller hole and grinding it out to size from both sides. It can be tricky doing it free hand, but can be done. And yes, find out if it is tempered
