My Tank Build
#2
Hard to tell from pic. It kinda looks like some of the slim coat. In my opinion tho the coral doesn’t look the healthiest. Do you know your perimeters? Like alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, phosphates, and nitrates?
Also more importantly how stable is your alkalinity? Does it fluctuate with in a half a point?
Also your tank still looks really new. How old is the system?
I use to think that sps will great in any system new and old. As long as the system was cycled. But on my current system I started from dry not live rock that came from the Fiji in a box wrapped in wet paper. It took close to 6 months having the tank running before I could keep the simplest sps alive. Sven then they still didn’t look the greatest. They had no polyp extension and colors faded. Around the 6 months mark I added a few pieces of live rock from another tank that had been running for years. 2 months later I started to see an improvement in sps health. So know I believe the diversity in bio organisms play a key part in overall sps health.
