Iam new to the sps world. My 100g tank has been up for 1.5 yrs and been growing lps and softies. About 2 weeks ago, i added some acros and noticed the tips started getting some brown stuff. I have a 48 inch photon v2plus running at 65% 12hrs a day with a 2 hr ramp up and down. I have 2 nero 5 and a jebao nero 5 equiv for flow set to 80% pulse. My water chem are as follow

Alk 9
Cal 470
Phos .14
Nitrate less than 5
Ph 8
Temp 77

I dont really see any polyp extensions and and seeing browning. I had my light setting higher b4 but the sps started bleaching so i lowered it. Ligh settings are as follows
Blues/uv are 65
White is 5
Red/green 2

Any advise would be appreciated...
Thanks

How tall is the tank and how high from the water line is the light? I have the same light and it packs a punch 👊

Burning tips is usually a sign of high alkalinity. What text kit are you using and have you ever double checked it with another kit to see if you get the same results

Hard to tell what's what with the blue light but are they the large acros up top or are those softie leathers? Just curious, one looks like a large hawkins piece maybe? The other possibly a stag of some kind? Did they come from a hobbyist or are they wild/maricultured colonies?

Large acros on top. And they are from a hobbyist

Glad you posted some pics. Looks like we can rule out the light as the culprit. What fish do you have in there besides the 2 or 3 tangs?

Much better pictures. Very nice looking pieces too.

Very possible it was the nem. That algae that's growing on it makes me wonder how much flow is on that piece specifically since it almost looks like cyanobacteria. It's tough to know with sps because sometimes the reaction is delayed from the actual event that stressed it. In this case it could have been just the transfer of tanks and the difference in parameters since it's only been about 2 weeks. Smaller frag size pieces tend to handle change a little bit better and there are a lot of things changing at once going from one tank to another. If anything is left, cut it well above the death line so maybe you can save a small piece. The majority of that piece looks dead to me, the brown is algae.

The other pieces look a little light in color to me too. Almost like low nutrient conditions but looks like you got them. I wonder how strong that light is?

Iam using a 48 photon v2plus at 65% intensity with 2 hr ramp up and down. In my tank, i have 2 nero 5, 1 jebao nero 5 equivalent. And u just added a gyre. I think i have the flow cover. Hopefully it will turn around...

So you just recently obtained these sps. By recent I mean with in a month. Sps are very tricky. In the fact that a temp swing for 2 weeks prior can cause the coral to stn. It can take 2 months for sps to bounce back after a move or parameter swing.
