Hey guys I recently added an mp40 to my Waterbox 100.3 (dims 36”x24”x22”).Previously I only had 1 mp10. All I can say is WOW! .the mp40 can really move some water.

I know they say the mp10 shouldn’t be used on 1/2” glass but it’s been on there for 3 moths and has been working fine .

Sooo my question is do you guys believe the way I have my pumps set up looks good for a bare bottom sps tank ?

My mp10 is currently running on reef crest with 100% max all day .

And my mp40 on reef crest 70% max from 7am-9pm
Then I turn it down to 10% max at night .

I also have the staggered and away from blowing directly at the coral .

Why do you guys think is it to much flow ? I just feel like the corals are liking it but the fish aren’t swimming as much as they were before .

Position seems fine, you’ll see detritus accumulate in dead spots, but you’ll need at least 1 more pump if you are doing sps dominant. Especially when they start to get bigger

Yes that is the plan , eventually (hopefully soon ) I’ll put a second mp40 . I’m wondering what people with similar dimension run their pumps at and if the turn them down at night . I figured I give the fish a break to sleep .

Can I find night mode on Mobius ?

Can you get the pump on Mobius? If so consider your self lucky. Mobius is having a soft roll out and ecotech hasn’t given I hard date of full launch yet.

But here is how to put a mp40 in different modes with controller.

I don’t think there’s a dedicated night mode in mobius, but you can just schedule the flow to be lower and on whatever setting you want during the nighttime hours.

I would turn your MP40 up to 100%. I never worried about pointing that pump directly at a coral myself. It's fine. Kinda needed if you want to chop up some Monti's IME.

I found a good way to rotate them was to turn one pump off for a few hours a day, then have both on, then turn the other pump off. Helps to change up the dead spots a bit IME.

Night mode is good for the corals, especially LPS IME.

Just upgraded my mp10 with its new rf module and connected to mobius. I can now program modes that adjust for the whole day. As far as flow I feel the more the better. I have 1 mp10 and 2 ai nero in a 60 gal that alternate.

I love sea swirls. They work really well on alternating current.

On my 150 I’m running 2 seaswirls on a closeloop that I powered by an vectra m1 that runs 100%RC during the day and 60% RC at night. Then I have 2 Nero5s running 70% random at 160 phase during the day and 30% at night. Then a mp40 at 40% RC all day long (psttt my mp10 is also on 1/2” thick glass with no big issues. Twice I’ve got home from work and the wet side was on the sand. But I no use the stickies for the dry side).
I did have 2 mp40s on this tank but I hated the look of a bump on the side of the tank. Then coraline grows around the wet side. I just wanted the 3 star fire sides to not have anything on the sides so I went with pumps on the back wall
