I have a rogue angel (I knew better, I did) who ate most my LPS/SPS and a few days ago I watched him attack and kill my cleaner shrimp. He is a lemon peel. I have been unsuccessful at catching him via a trap. He doesn't go near it, and when he does my sailfin chases him away.

So Will it be okay to take all my rock out and set it on garbage bags for maybe 10-20 mins while I catch him? I have corals, snails, crabs etc. that will be exposed. I will also be disturbing two paired goby/pistol. I am running out of options and before he cost me more livestock I need him gone!

I didn't feed and then put food in, but the sailfin guards the entrance to the trap. I have tried many methods....

I've had to remove all my rocks and coral to catch fish a few times. No losses. Just act quick and make sure you have extra salt water already made.

how big of a trap are you using? ive tried to leave the trap in the tank and not feed for a few days.. if the salfin is going in the tank i would snag him out for a few days until you catch the angel.

I got mine by putting his favorite coral in the trap. Tang won't care about the coral and you should be able to get him.

I used the 2 liter bottle DIY trap for many fish. It helped that I used a small dental mirror inside. That way I don't have to not feed. Once the fish sees itself it goes for it. Usually lol.

Good luck!
