OK so maybe a newb question haha but what do you guys use to net your fish out of a tank? I have had two anthias now get their gills stuck in the net that I have... this last time I had to shake the bajesus out of it to get it off. They seem fine, but there has to be a better way. Acrylic box with holes? What do you guys use that's more gentle? Maybe my net just sucks.

I've had that happen a few times too with small tangs. Sucks to think you might mess them up, specially after they survive qt.

Small fish I use Tupperware. The cheap small bowl type thats small enough to cover with my hand. I corner the fish and trap it in the Tupperware against the glass, raise it to the water surface before I start to tilt it up. I wear a nitrile glove on my covering hand, let the water drain through my fingers into a bucket then dump the fish in the new tank. easier said than done though.

Following along as someone has to have an easier trick.

Alot of the smaller fish I have that are top dwellers like chromis will jump into my cups bowls and containers.

When I can get away with it, I use one of those same HOF containers that the fish stores use to temporarily store their fish in before they bag them for you.

Everything else, i use the marine depot nets. They do not ussually get stuck on those.

I found a nice small plastic colander with a handle that I'll try. Looking for a cloth net as well but can't seem to find one.
