Hello everyone-
New guy Jay here. I really like the idea behind these boards. I currently reside in Costa Mesa, I am fairly new to the hobby (about 6 months) but was instantly addicted. I currently have a 55 gallon reef with fish set up. Nothing to impressive but Im new and still learning but am loving it. When not working to support my fish/coral addiction I spend my time hitting up all the fish stores in the area. I am excited about the potential oppurtunity to meet reefers in the area and buy/swap frags and equipment with everyone. I hope you guys accept me into your boards and I look forward to meeting all of you and swapping stories, advice, and whatever else:top:.

Hey thanks everyone-
So far the people on here seem pretty cool. As long as no one talks down to newbies as everyone was new at some point and made a couple mistakes along the road I will have no problems. I would love to get a pic of my tank up im just not that digitally advanced, yet. Im really starting to get into corals lately, especially interested in ricordias. Does anyone have any advice as to where to score some healthy rics that are moderately priced? Any helpful advice regarding rics?
Thanks again for the hospitality. How many of you actually hang out outside of this forum?

Just ask us any questions that you have. We are here to help you avoid those mistakes. Ricordias are really nice, eventually you will get into zoos, and then sps!! You might want to check out frag city corals. They have nice rics for a good price.

Its nice to know that Im not the only dude whom has a busy schedule and when I am home just stares at his tank. Very relaxing for those of us whom work retarded hours.
Zoos are rad, I have about 10 colonies going thus far, some frog spawn, bubble coral, pulsing Xenia, and just picked up a frag of star polys that Im dying to watch explode with growth, candy coral frag, couple of leathers.
I already have somewhat of an compulsive personality and really took on reefing full speed. My pocket book hates me for it but Im making due. Had to quit my current job just to find a new job that pays more to support my habit.
Anyways rics have caught my attention lately. I actually want to go up to Redondo to check out Fraggle Reef soon. Has anyone been up there? I like the fact that they are only open to the public weekends, maybe this means there are some choice frags available. I could be off though, are they a wholesaler during the week? If so then maybe pickings are slim. Im all about finding some new reef shops in the area and liked the fact that most of the vendors listed on this site are ones I have not been to so I have some exploring to do.

We all have to work extra hard to keep up with this hobby. We all have something that we want to buy and most of the time it is expensive.
