Just wanted to say hi.
I was told about this site by a guy that I was getting some coral from. I have had a nano tank for years nothing fancy. Went through a hand full of fish but end up with a pair of clowns. I have currently upgraded to 60g tank. I have also had a surprise addition from my mother-in-law, a Mandarin Goby. I have recently started getting into coral with some zoa/poly frags, GSP, and now a Purple and Green colored hammer.

This is before I added the hammer and zoa/polys. I am still working on getting another light for the left side of the tank. I really like the Red Sea LED lights and they are a little pricey so I was only allowed to get one. I am also trying to figure out what wavemaker I want. I heard red sea is supposed to have theirs in store this week but who knows. Anyone have any other recommendations? I really like the Gyre design. Does anyone know if I should just get one or should I try and get 2 one for each side? Are there any other gyres that yall would recommend?

I forgot I have a dozen dwarf red cortez hermits, 2 peppermint shrimps, and a blue tuxedo urchin. What would be a good recommendation for additional CUC?

Nice set up. Take it slow. The mandarin goby is going to need some tiger pods to feed on, your tanks looks newly set up. Are you dosing anything, also what’s your salinity measure, and also calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium?

What is a good testing kit? I usually go to the LFS and have them test it since I found out that old testing kits are not good to use because they expire or at least thats what I was told and it does not help that I am colorblind. I had to have other people tell me what color the tests were

Mandarin dragonet is a veracious predator. They make a kill about every 10-15 seconds. They have a very specionized diet, live copepods. 60 gallon is about the minimum tank size for these fish because the tank needs to grow a continuous supply of their food. I would recommend making at least a one time purchase from algae barn to kick start your production

If you’re color blind, Hana is the way to go, it’ll give you a digital reading.
