I got a pair of orchid dottybacks on Saturday and left the lights off until today. 1 of them has been hiding yet visible since I got it, but the other one has not been seen at all. My PT has been chasing the smaller one into hiding all day as expected but I am getting a bit concerned about the other, bigger, one as I have not seen it at all.
How long have your new fish hidden before you have seen them? I have nothing that would eat or attack a live fish and have seen no body. Is 2 days too early to cause concern?

Thanks, Dave

Thanks for the reply, kbra, do you see it during feeding? Do you know where it hides/sleeps and check on it? Or just assume all is good. These are my dream fish, it would really suck to lose one as they are supposed to be added together in order to get along so adding another one down the road would probably not be a good idea.
I'm kind of pissed because they are both ORA and I kind of let the guy talk me into not seeing this one eat because it was ORA. I did see the smaller one eat and that one is out quite a bit.

cool, thanks, just a little paranoid I guess. The one is out a lot now, but the **** PT chases it back everytime it exits its "area". amazing color on these fish...

Well, the second one came out of hiding today, or is it the first one. After seeing them together, I'm not sure if I was seeing the smaller one before or the larger, either way they are both good and ate well, what a relief.

Best part is that they are getting along great, hanging together, ducking the PT when she comes around. I love these fish. I can't believe I waited this long to get them. Their coloring is just amazing...
