Gotta love roadtrips with great friends that consist of going to buy fish and corals and having yummy food. Went down to SD with my boys ericta000 and newe70. Big thanks to d-man for his hospitality and showing us his awesome 860 gallon tank...seeing his Personatus angel in person was definitely a treat. And the fish we bought from him are all doing great. Then a visit to AquaSD to see and buy some sweet corals. Sorry i dont have pics of the huge show tank or aqua sd but one thing i did get a pic of was our yummy lunch at phills bbq. Lmao

Next, Jason JDEllis @Ellis Aquatics was nice enough to order my rocks and also picked up my special grade sand from him so big thanks to him and i recommend going to him if you want some awesome dry pukani rocks, sand and of course killer deals on some nice fish and corals.

Edit: thanks to jimmy, eric and kenny for also giving me some nice rocks to add to the mix.

So decided to try something i havent done before, which is to bleach my rocks to kill off all organic matter and shorten the cycle once i get the tank up and running. So heres the rock in the containers with water and bleach and then put lids and tape so that no one has to smell or touch the nasty cocktail. Btw the 2nd container didnt have a lid so i had to use my cereal bowl ; p

Yeah, have had the beef ribs and they are good but nothing compares to the baby backs and the broham (pulled pork samich)

Reason you chose bleach instead of the muriatic acid? Is there a difference really?
Since I don't have anywhere to do this safely where I live, I had to do the bleaching at my parent's house and didn't want to endanger anyone's health or acid wash their driveway. lol

No I understand, just wondering if it is just as effective?

I don't believe you. We have to go investigate.

We shall see. Since I am moving as slow as...well, YOU (lol), during this build...I am leaving them in bleach for a week and then will do the water change with de-chlor and leave them like that for another week and then rinse and soak in ro water and then let them sun dry. We will see what the finished results provide.

Worked on the largest rock that's going into the 8 footer. Started with a drill but then the battery died so went with hammer and chisel to finish making the softball size hole for fish to swim through and sleep in. That's all I have done so like solitude127 said "basically I have done nothing" lol..

Finally starting to see some progress on this build, now that the coral qt and the fish qt are in place and locked and loaded. I was going to pay to have my rockscape done but after having some good friends remind me that this part is my forte, I decided to get off my duff and get to work. So here are the tools that I am using for my rockscape.
