There is a really interesting thread on Reefcentral ( http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2670592&highlight=aefw ) regarding AEFW. Zeovit Flatworm Stop and wormwood have been suggested as in tank treatments without removing sps. I don't believe anyone has come up with a working dose of wormwood, but JDA (online name) has shared his experience and observation with Zeovit Flatworm Stop. I have never had aefw but I looked into utilizing Zeovit Flatworm Stop as a preventative. Yes I use Bayer dip on all coral additions, I only add frags and never colonies, I always inspect carefully and I cut all frag plugs off but even Bayer may not be 100% effective and of course nothing yet kills eggs. Zeovit Flatworm Stop is expensive and so I found it cost prohibitive as a preventative, just in case approach. But this is new ground in potentially treating an AEFW infestation.

Well you know I'm a KZ user and have buddies that use it as well. KZ doesn't show their ingredients prob for the same reason coca cola doesn't share theirs. aka Trade Secrets/recipes. But I wouldn't be dumping in wormwood powder in my tank any time soon. "Even if it smelled and tasted the same". I know a lot of users that use flatworm stop not because they have flatworms but it's been known to really accelerate growth. Just like all the other additives out there, I don't think that would be the case as a result of just one active ingredient but a recipe. One thing I do know is it isn't a poison for AEFW but does what the thread mentions and makes SPS unpalatable. It's not cheap either so by no means I would consider it an alternative to dipping. Dip your corals, cut the frag plugs they came on, and do what you can to avoid resorting to dosing to keep the Reef Herpes at bay.

reefespieces can you take a look at this and maybe give a little info on flatworms stop
