Hey everyone,
My name is Arriana and I started reefing about 2 years ago with a used 30 gallon biocube. Just a few months ago my husband and I got an 80 gallon tank that we are just getting started. We have 2 clown fish, a blue hippo tang, a bowtie damsel, and two yellowtail damsels. Weve also got a few different types of zoa colonies, a frogspawn, a hammerhead, a duncan, a toadstool, some GSP and some pulsing zenias. Still feel like im in the beginner stage and learning a lot about the hobby. I would love to get a maxima clam. Anyone have success with them? Any tips or tricks are appreciated.

Hi Im kinda new too. I live in Tucson AZ, but born in National City and then grew up in Temecula. I had a lot of friends from Elsinore and played their teams growing up, football and basketball. I graduated in 1988 from Linfield HS in Temec. Been into Reefing for about 15-20y. Im now focusing on breeding. Ive been raising funds for it by selling the copepods and rotifers I raise as well. Just starting to add pairs. Have had some success with Benggai Cardinals. Anyways heres a baby cardinal pic and baby peppermint shrimp pic.
I have other cool video on Facebook @paulspodaz. Nice to meet you. Im here if you have any questions at all. Feel free.

Hey Arriana, Im also from Lake Elsinore! Ive been in the hobby for about 5 years now, also still very new but if I can help in any way let me know. I have mostly SPS but some LPS so if your ever wanting to come over and pick up something new just send me a PM. I also have two maxima clams one that Ive had for about 7 months now, the other maybe 4 months. Not sure what kind of advice I can offer on them other than make sure its a healthy one to start and its foot was not damaged when harvested. Also place them on a rock or something they can attach to somewhere they get plenty of light ( mine are mid to bottom in the tank, but this could be different for you just depends on your light).

Im just really starting to post on forums. Mostly to try and sell my pods, give advice, get advice. But be careful, theres a lot of anecdotal stuff. You have to search for the good stuff.
In Tucson, we have 3 LFS. The weather is great until summer. Like 4-5 months out of the year is almost unbearable. I dont go outside when its hot like that. Unless Im in my pool.
My mom lives in Prescott Valley. Great place to visit but hard to live or make a living. It seems like its a lot of rich retirees. The restraunt biz seems like it would do well or a sal water store possibly. Not my bag. I like to supply the fish. Trying real hard. Not a lot of good info out there. Have to search hard. Please let me know I you run a cross anything about breeding.

HI Sal, Good to know there are other reefers in Lake Elsinore i'm off the 15 and central. I mainly have SPS, since i went from my 30 gal nano to my 80gal it looks like i have NOTHING in it ..lol i would like to start getting some LPS corals since i love how they look just sounds like theyre hard to keep.. i've been wanting a maxima clam for a while so my husband got me one tiny one like inch big and a darasa clam which was like 2-3 inches. The maxima died with in like 2 weeks and the darasa for about 2 months and i think there was a change in my water in the 30 gal nano and it started to shrink in and died. I read a some forum that you have more succuss on keeping them alive if you get them bigger 4"+ .. still want one but now i'm a bit scared to get one since they aren't cheap ..lol i would like to check your coral

Im also off central and the 15, at the Rosetta Canyon community. Yea going from a 30 to an 80 will do that, lol. LPS are the easier ones to keep SPS is the harder stuff, but I think I get ya. Definitely go with the bigger clams, I know their not cheap but Ive had a couple of the small and they always died, wont touch any clam smaller than 4 now. I have some pictures on my site but if you wanted to come look in person we can schedule something out, just let me know.
