Hello fellow reefers.

A friend of mine who is a reefer as well suggested I join this forum, I actually met him on reef2reef. He needed some help designing a part for his tank, and we have been reefer buddies since then... and that is how I got here...

Hoping to help anyway I can on this forum through my own experience. :geek:

I will upload a current picture tomorrow for sure, as the lights are low and about to turn off. I'm still upgrading the light rail system... I have a 100G Lee Mar that has 3 xr15 G5 mounted on a RMS rail, which I do not like.

I started this build in 2021 of FEB. before that I had 3 other reef tanks 13 years ago... so it has been an adventure dealing with all this new equipment.

I just finished building a 3030 rail frame to go over the tank, RMS rail is coming off.

I printed all the orange parts, the center rail is for the radion LEDS, and the other two rails will have the orphek led bars with an height adjustable carbon fiber tube.

Welcome my friend, glad you joined us here. I guess I need to start a build thread here at some point? I can showcase some of the printed stuff that you designed for my tank.

Wow, you got major skills. That mount looks fantastic. I’m in similar situation, just getting back in hobby and dealing with all this new tech. Obviously don’t have the 3D printing skills, so have to settle with Macguyer’ing with whatever I can. Trying to make a baller tank on not a baller budget. I can’t wait to see your tank now, and hoping to follow along. Gives me a lot of hope to getting my tank up.

just one thing though, that stand is begging for a bigger tank. Is this on a 2nd floor? May have weight restriction?

its downstairs, I just wanted a bit of counter space to place food and water testing stuff.... I find it useful. its more of a commercial setup.... I live alone, so no wife to bug me to wanting it to match the furniture. :ROFLMAO:

Here is a picture of the tank. Please dont mind the mess with the wire on the ground and dosing container.. just some extra stuff I have laying around that needs to go in the closet... my phone camera sucks also...

I would have uploaded them sooner, but was busy printing parts all day to ship out pending orders tomorrow .

I had the tank running for a whole year without corals, and so in Feb this year I started to add frags, and still adding as time goes by.. I like a gradual load to the tank, rather than a one time load... maturity is a priority for me, bio diversity develops in time and not at once.. besides I'm not in a rush.

Its a fast way to strip out the Po4, and has to be controlled, just anther thing that you have to worry about,,,

I like a simple solution like this stuff here https://www.algaebarn.com/shop/aquarium-supplies/pns-probio/

Coral snow is another way to control Po4. Also helps with the clarity of water. Makes for simple maintenance ..
Sounds like that too much gfo is being used. Phyto can add to waste if nothing consumes it. Coral snow based on brand can actually also increase nutrients significantly (tlf as an example)
