Just got back from Ocean's in Mission Viejo for my frozen food run. Dave's got a spectacular array of new fish that I've not seen before. While looking, I noticed that there was a tiny 1" Longnosed Black Tang. Dave told me he's selling it for $1,200. These fish are super rare to find on the market. Whoever gets it is getting a centerpeice for a steal!

Sign of old age but I thought it was $800? Anyway, I personally find many other fish more appealing & cheaper but that’s just me…

It’s a cool fish, especially if you have a yellow tang as well. It’s like ying and yang.

Unfortunately, I have too many tangs from same family already (scopas, gem, desjardin). And my fun hobby slush fund is empty, I may have gone negative with the recent 3D printer purchase. It’s hard to be a faux baller out here. :ROFLMAO:

No, well yes, but just the scientific name. For wrasses, it's easier since common names get confusing. For example, a Christmas wrasse could be any of multiple Halichoeres wrasses or a Thalassoma wrasse, all of which have very different characters (H. claudia and H. biocellatus are very peaceful, whereas H. ornatissimus can be a bully and Thalassomas are not nice fish, generally speaking). In the above case, you've got the black/black leopard wrasse (M. Negrosensis), the yellow tail tamarin wrasse/spotted wrasss (A. Meleagrides) and the red tail tamarin wrasss/psychedelic wrasse (A. chrysocephalus).
