Official: RMF Flavor Parade Growout Contest

Mine was a bit tan, but it was transported and dipped in coral RX. Had small spot of TN at the base. I’m not complaining, just stating facts. My hopes are to color up and grow out this frag, and stay in the competition. Win or loose- this is supposed too be fun and engaging for members.
I for one am excited and hopefull this frag will grow up with a brighter future, one where all frags are created equal, in a world where Elon Musk owns Twitter, and freedom of speech and true liberty are freely practiced, and cancel culture is canceled. In a world where Jonny Depp still has all his fingers, a world where truths are freely shared, a world where COVID is a distant memory in history and all corals can live in harmony….

I picked mine up on Sunday. My original pic was under white light no filter. Here it is under blue with filter. Mine doesnt seem browned out and the contest is so far out that im not worried about color as things will get better as it gets growth. Im still in if you guys are.

My color is starting to return, I'm confident it'll make a full recovery. Challenge accepted 
My original post was intended to improve future pickup points for future competitions so we don't end up with people with a bad taste, and we'll continue to have participation going forward. It wasn't meant to fault anyone specifically, just a situation we can improve or avoid.
I'm down for a side color up contest, even if it's just for bragging rights or maybe a "title" tag for the username. Or toss in some cash for a payout for the winner of that category, like in the past.
No way in hell Jose intended for any advantage in the contest for himself. He's a great reefer and has a good rep with the community. He was unable to stay on Saturday but had he been able to be there to oversee the comp frags I don't think we'd be having these complaints. We also need to appreciate the fact he drove to LOA 2x for pickup and back to Ali's for drop offs. Same goes to Emac, thank you both.
Maybe going forward we can secure a secondary backup for overseeing check-in pickups for frag totals and provide a temperature controlled climate for the comp frags (within reason). So everyone starts with a solid/even base frag. I believe that's where some stress came from, maybe they got a little too cold? Not enough to kill them, but lose some color. Like shipping would have done in most cases from my experience. Ali didn't have any skin in the game, he just let us all use his store for a pickup location. LOA cut a deal for a bulk purchase but still had to chop all the frags, mount and heal them. At the end of the day we got a nice coral that we need to put some work into.

I think Smite hit this on the head. At the end of the day this is just supposed to be a friendly GROWOUT competition. Your frag could stay tan the whole year but be bigger than everyone else’s you’d be the winner.
Considering the travel time etc. I agree there was likely stress at play here but nothing that would kill the coral. That’s the idea of running the competition so long so we don’t have these issues. We can definitely learn from this one for the next comp but I want keep them going. Maybe even add a monti growout / color up for the real new guys.
Jose had nothing to gain and to be quite honest I don’t even think intended to join (I had to ask him if he would), he simply wanted to help the community.

That’s fine and awesome but why did he even trip in the first place? Iono man I’ll tell u what. I already made the statement that I want to forfeit. I will stick to my statement. But if u guys are okay with it I wouldn’t mind posting up mine monthly just for kicks. To me this isn’t about the money and purely just for fun and friendly. I will not need a refund or anything.
Thank you to everyone that helped organize this and executed it. I’ve never actually done a grow out before and it should be a good bit of fun
honestly this last week was pretty rough for me so this was a nice distraction. I’m sad that people ended up with subpar colored frags or even worse frags with some tn. I’m sure the logistics of getting frags out to almost 30 people is a difficult situation to figure out and execute and Jose clearly did a lot of legwork for which I’m grateful.
