It’s officially saltwater.

Put in the stand pipes over the weekend

And the Maggie Mufflers came in yesterday

I can’t believe how much foam this little skimmer produces

I’m going to my LFS to pick up a couple API tests (ammonia and nitrite) so I can cycle the tank. I’ve decided to use this

I got a bunch of maxpect bio-sphears in my 60 gallon frag tank. I’m going to transfer half of them to this system. That should speed up the process a bit.

Dude I never noticed that overflow is glassed in, badass!
You'll be cycled in no time with those spheres. I'm interested to hear how the kit works out. I always swear by fritz turbo-start but itll be cool to hear how this does. I like brightwell as a company and use MB7 in my tank weekly.

Yeah dude, it’s a glass section in the back outside the tank. The screen is removable too.

Started the cycle today. Ammonia reads 2ppm after dosing.

I’ve been looking at Brightwell to replace KZ since I’m not running zeovit on this tank.

So according to the amount of salt I added, my total water volume is 72 gallons.

Also threw in the bio-sphears and started the cycling kit today.

Cycle is in full swing. I added ammonia and bacteria on Tuesday. This picture is from last night. I’ll check for nitrates today.

Got my screen put together and the cheato has been doing pretty good

Just can't get it to tumble. Maybe I don't have enough flow? Should I take the marine pure cubes out of the fuge?

Oh yeah, I added a gate valve to the drain because it was loud. The maggie mufflers kept the overflow quiet but every time the air bubbles hit a 90, it would create sound. Now its dead silent.

Also made a new cover for my overflow. Don’t laugh... it’s my first acrylic build. It looks god ugly but it fits perfectly.
