Something is up today! Lol the sand bed is a little more clear but bacteria is growing all over the tank. I’ll have to check my nutrient levels tomorrow.

More progress. Trading dinos for cyano. Also I’m seeing A LOT of coralline algae growing in several places.

So all the algae is almost gone and it seems that the dinos are all gone. I also got my hands on a culture of Thalassiosira weissflogii so that puts me at 4 different strains of phytoplankton. Thalassiosira weissflogii consumes silicates so it outcompetes dinos. It also speeds up the cycling process. Can’t wait to see what it will do in the tanks!

Well, the first culture of thalassiosira weissflogii crashed. I’m so glad I kept back up cultures in the fridge!

Oh man! The tank is free of dinos! And coralline algae is exploding.

I put some SPS a week or 2 ago and they’re still alive. They’re even starting to color up.
