I have just downsized to a 55 gallon.
Besides 2 clowns and hopefully a small Borbonias Anthias when they become available ( unless someone has one to sell me ) I would like to put in another 2 small peaceful reef safe fish that are really nice.
No Chromis, Bengali Cardinals or Mandarins.

Any suggestions.

Thanks

Tail spot blenny. Love the colors, hardy, and always out and about. Peaceful but will hold his own with the fish you plan to have. Plus it's a perfect size for your 55.

I love my black cap basslet. Bright purple fish, small (Max size like 3.5-4”), light on the Bioload, and not aggressive

As seen/suggested here: we love midas blenny, almost any wrasse (no 6-line). Most wrasses are great, colorful, and chill. 55g is mildly questionable for this fish, but we love foxface rabbitfish as well.

if i were going back to my 50g~ size i'd aim for a mix of:

basslets, gramma/liopropoma/chalk bass
assessors are cool cryptic fish
sunburst anthias, great in a peaceful tank
yellowhead jawfish, fun fish to watch
wrasses, fairies and flashers are pretty but just swim around. halichoeres leopards and anampses are more fun to watch as they hunt for microfauna
meiacanthus blennies are super active and super peaceful
dwarf angels are beautiful, but if you like acans and meaty lps maybe not the best to toss one of those in

Royal Gramma and Flamehawk are my favorite.
I second this suggestion.

Firefish / Helfrichi are nice but they are little jumping rocket ships so make sure your tank is covered.

Fang Blennies are really cool, Biota has several captive bread ones. Very active.

I know your tank is a little small, but a small herbivore tang would be a big help for algae control. Possibly a white tail bristletooth.
