Hey Guys,

For giggles, I purchased a lab grade ORP probe for my Apex. I currently run two pH, two temps and now an ORP proble. Have it set up and noticed that it started at a low number and is slowly going upward. Anyone have a good idea on how long it might take to settle in? I've heard/read that it can take a week or two, but once it settles, you have your baseline.

As always, thoughts are appreciated.

Mike

No ozone..... just happened to trade some stuff for a PM1 module and probe so I thought I'd put it in the tank to see what happened.

From what I have read you should expect to see a reading somewhere between 250 and 450. Of course this depends on a whole slew of things I don't really understand, but that is the range to be somewhere in between. My readings started in the single digits and have been creeping upward over the last twelve hours, currently 224 and still moving upward. So we will see where it settles. I'll report back

Ime they drift a lot. Ive owned multiple neptune & pinpoint probes, usually useful for only a couple months. Its a shame because an accurate orp reading is theoretically very useful. Then again, ive run O3 for 8 years (in its own reactor, then through carbon) & never had a problem, dozens of coral have spawned and tanks never crashed. Makes me wonder sometimes.
