Wife always told me when we move she will sign off a full scale build. Soooo here we go.
Found our new home and it didn’t have an ideal location for a tank 🤦‍♂️

We tossed it around a lot and decided the only spot in the house we wanted the tank was right here just one issue

this ugly fireplace in the way…
Thankfully I have friends with skills and were willing to help me do the work

it also happened to be the best place to drop piers beam and joists all the support the engineer said needed to be put in to support the weight of tank

next into sealing up the wall and making it smooth

So this is up to today on our tanks journey. Crazy to think it came into the house on cinco de Mayo and it’s finally got livestock and our 120 that’s been on the other side of the room is finally shut down and transferred over

I need to clean up the wiring and finish setting up the apex ect

still deciding if I want to add another kessil over the middle and run 5 I need to get a par meter to get a baseline of my par don’t want to cook anything under the narrow reflectors but don’t want dead spots either

Looking forward to watching the progression of your build! Congrats on the new home and tank!

Depending on how PAR readings come out, you might consider supplementing the Kessils with a couple AI blades or ReefBrite strips to even out the coverage.

The pictures really do skew the look as it’s not as dark in the middle area but it’s not as bright as under the narrow lenses

the middle section is my zoa garden and lower light stuff but if needed I’m looking at the blade aswell but my ocd is screaming put up a 5th kessil to even the light bar out

The total water volume according to the brs calculator minus rocks sand ect comes out to 311

Sweet setup! That tank looks deep. And loving the NSA.
Thanks I feel like it was a Pinterest fail 🤣🤣🤣

it’s 100% different than I had envisioned going into it but it evolved. It kept changing and morphed into what it is. I like it but more importantly the fish really like it

Amazing setup - congrats on the new house & tank. We’ve all been here before, there is no such thing as a “final tank” — hope the wifey doesn’t see this! 🤣

My final tank was a 150g cube…now +4 tanks later, all running at the same time, I’m still not done.

Good luck with the build and keep the thread going strong. Looks awesome

If you need to borrow a Par Meter for the weekend to get the baseline, I have a Par-wise meter. It's a sweet little meter, and works pretty good. Hit me up if you need one still. I'm in Orange.

wife loves the hobby more than me most times haha she’s all for a bigger tank just in this house it’s not going to happen unless we build onto the house just for the tank haha

it’s crazy how big the tank felt during the build but now it feels kind of small already 😬😬😬
