I used RUSTOLEUM, flat black paint. It came in a half pint container for less then five bucks.

I also used a 'weenie' roller, or 'cigar' roller. They look like thier names.

The paint is oil based, but with that roller, I did not need to mask off anything, just rolled all the way to and over the trim on the back side.

It took three coats, but it dried, within a half hour each coat, the directions said something different, but I just went ahead, and in hour and half was done.

The paint will last long time, and actually will come off with a sharp razor blade, should you change your mind in the future...

When I was done, I just through away the roller, and did not have to clean anything up...

spray paints work okay, but you need to mask off and keep drips and runs in check.

the weenie roller and fast dry paint will be quick and easy.. I didnt even use a drop cloth for the ground, and I have plenty of them, just not needed..

I used a vinyl backing on my 300 that goes on like window tint. Better than paint IMO and can be taken off later if needed. I can't remember the name but it's made by Blue Life and got it at a LFS.

is the back of your tank, (pook), drilled?

I was thinking aboutdoing that, but was not sure about bulkheads and tint, or having gaps around the bulkhead. although, I am sure it could be trimmed real tight

I wanted the option of redoing it different color. then realized i would never be able to get back there again anyways..
