I had a pair of clowns for about 8 years. The male recently died and I’ve wanted to buy another one. The female is pretty big. Do you think I could safely add a male or would she likely beat it up?

I Had the same happen. Look for the same type of clown, but like a third of the size of the female.

Thanks. I was hoping to pair a black storm with her. Does it have to be the same kind? She’s a SA C-Quest Onyx if I remember right. It’s been a long time

It’s possible. however the male I had was a regular ocelaris, which I thought would pair up with a big phantom female, but they always seemed to be nipping at each other. The new male I purchased was a tiny phantom, have yet to see them nip at one another. He’s maybe half her size at the most.
