i wasnt sure which forum to put this in..
theres a pet store which i wont name as of right now..
i used to buy quite a few things from them but a few days ago, after the process of them going downhill, theyve hit rock bottom. ive talked to ex-employees who they let off and the reasons why..
basically in the saltwater section (which i have offered to help out with numerous times EVEN for as little as some store credit) there was a HUGE Panther grouper fish dieing in a 60gallon, with 5 other dead fish. The coral tank has been taken over by algae and few are alive. Theres a nurse shark in a 300 gallon, the sharks about 4feet now and is only growing into its soon death. (they want $700). They have reptiles as well, which i know this isnt the website for but they have maggots in their cage and are dry dieing with no water. The pet bunnies have worms. They feed the reptiles in their cages and leave rats in their to injure the repts. Bedding hasnt been changed in god knows how long. Ive tried to save many of them, but 90% of the animals there are "not for sale, we want to keep that one". Fine- take care of it then! Ive offered to help out and get the place cleaned up, but never heard back. So yesterday we talked to one of the ex-emps and were asking how to buy out the store. They said the owner has NO intentions of selling, as shes still "making profit". So, really what im asking is what legal action should i take? how can i get an inspector to check them out and hopefully shut this place down? Its horrible to see this many animals dieing due to carelesness..Opinions and advice are welcomed..

or you can always picket the store if you have time. If she is still making a profit after signs are up people will think twice about shopping there

Call Animal Control. The ASPCA, I don't think, will make much happen fast.

Local agencies are your best bet...

I personally hope you find a way to help make a positive change. I get pretty angry when I see such things, especially when such basic care is denied in the name of "profit"...

Best of luck.
