Can you guys post some pics of 36" & 40" stand set ups? Been out of the hobby for 8ish years. Trying to get an idea of what stand size to build. Thanks!

40” shallow tank

I prefer 40" and above to be at eye level without having to bend over and hurt my back as I stare for long periods of times. lol

That depends on the height of the tank itself. I'm 6', my 24" tall tank is on a 38" tall stand. Viewing is perfect, maintenance I need a step stool to access the bottom third.

I'm building a shallow tank 15" tall with same height stand because I realized I love top down views as much as straight on.

To each is own. I like the top down views as well! I use a step stool as well. I look straight on more then top down so i built my stand to have the middle of the tank around eye level. Set my drink on the ledge and chill. The setup you mentioned would put the top of the tank around 5 ft so i would still have to look down.

Not to mention all the space under the tank for activities. lol

I think 36-40 are sweet spots any lower would be a pain to do maintenance under the stand
