Hi Mod and everyone,

I was trying to rehome two of my fish. Then there are 4-5 people messaged me and then I only reply all of them using the forum conversation message system. Then two of them said they have paid me already and I got so confuse because I only provided my zip code to them in the message. I have not text or send message to anyone else beside one buyer that I know him in person.

I think there are some scammer surfing this forum, so be careful. I said I wanted to buy an AI Prime lens and got multiple messages from brand new members with zero other messages/likes saying they have one for me...

I was wondering this problem myself. I have two person contacted me about my post. Asking me to email his friend who has what I need. An email was provided to me on both occasions. I didn’t reply because it might be some kind of scam. Is there a way we can report?

I am a bit confused, the person that replied to you guys and scammed you was using the main person selling the items account?
Here is the two victims scenarios and I’m still confuse about the second one because he/she never shared any contact info in the message conversation.

1. First victim shared his contact when reaching out to me. After I replied my location, I thought the buyer no longer interest in the fish because there’s no more message back from him. Actually, the scammer already reach out to the buyer using the contact info and committed the scam.

2. Second victim just reach out and asked my location. In this case, he never shared his contact info in my message conversation. I’m a bit confuse on how the scammer contact the buyer in this case.

I’m betting the scammer made an account with a using id that looked a lot like yours and contacted them via PM. Not very hard to change a number and confuse someone.
