In behalf of Vinny73 President of South Bay Reef Society we are announcing that the merging of SBRS and SDMAS has been canceled due to unfortunate circumstances but we will continue to help, support each other as we had done in the past thank you.

GO....

Spam member joined the forum and spammed IIRC 5-6 threads with the same message and then banned and messages were deleted. I hit one to bring it to the top where it would be seen and action taken.
Look at the RC member list sometime. Sort it by date joined and then find those with little red houses. Mouse over it to see the link, just don't click. I'd guess looking at the new members there that at least 20% are bots waiting to pounce. Another 20% or so just to have the URL or profile info show up in Google searches. I think RC looks at them on occasion and bans them before they post but I think those are still shown as members when you look at the total member counts that people use to compare forum size.

Until I resigned as a mod on zeovit.com I cleared all those type of members out before they posted. Even with the encrypted letters/numbers those bots would get through. Real vs Bot members were about three out of ten. The member list here BTW looks clean by comparison.
