Was wondering if anybody knows what kind of fish will eat bubble algae. I know scraping, and emerald Crabs help but is there a fish that munches on it also? Oh yea also the bubble algae turned white and disappeared no floating bubbles at all except maybe 1 or 2 that I noticed.

You can try rabbitfish, tangs or Copperbands are my best guess but Ive never had any luck with them taking care of it. I used Vibrant aquarium cleaner, it got rid of it and has never come back.

It's not algaecide. It's a bottle of bacteria that is beneficial to tanks and outcompetes other algae.

Both me and another having been experimenting on api algaefix and I with reef flux. Full Sps tank 5x dose no skimmer on 6th day 30% bubble algae died. Sps and fish all act as if nothing ever happened

Vibrant took care of a bubble algae problem in my past 100g tank. It was hard to find a piece of rock that wasn't covered. It was dying off so quickly that I placed a foam cover on my mp40 and had to clean it daily so it wouldn't clogged. Too 6-8 weeks to rid the tank of bubble algae.

How many times did you dose during your 8 weeks? Do you have Acros? if so did they turn pale? Did your nutrients go down? what about your nitrates? Sorry for all the question its just im getting mixed reviews. Thanks

I think if you research how often people dose to get rid of bubble algae using Vibrant, they used a more aggressive dosing schedule per week and they dosed over a month to many months.
Other people can chime in but Vibrant is pretty strong stuff and can pale your acros and get your nutrients out of whack.

I definitely dosed more than the recommended amount. I think 2x weekly instead of immediately after the water change. It's unfortunate photobucket pulled all the pictures from my thread - Smites 100. I think I stated the dosing regimen there. I'm at work but I'll check it out tomorrow.

That tank was very mixed but about 85% sps. It also had clams and anemones at the time of dosing. I lost a kole tang during the treatment but I've gone through a few of those so I could have been coincidence. I did find it weird that the only fish affected was an algae grazer.

I always struggled to maintain nutrients in that system and made up for it with lots of food and coral supplements. I'm sure vibrant will drop your nutrient level some. I do remember losing some color but my die off was massive. If stick to the suggested dose, it may take a little longer but I'm sure it will do the trick. You'll see the bubble algae lighten, they start to go translucent before it goes flying around the tank. If you have a no style pump or other pump you can place a foam filter gaurd on it made clean up super easy.

Well...how I look at this is both treatments have results. Its like different salt mixes u just gotta find what works for u. One brand may work for one and not another. With both being main goal to keep marine aquatic animals. U just gotta see with method works for u.
