Anyone have success coloring back up rbtas? I use to have 3 med sized ones that were getting really big fully extended but I guess they the heat wave last year kind of pissed them off. Now theres like 7 small ones, they keep splitting and very light in color, but are bubbled now. Running an old xr30 gen2 over a 40 breeder. Feed them mysis every few days.

Don't have any test kits, but been more consistent with weekly/bi-weekly water changes with reef crystals. I think I have some reef roids somewhere.

IF RBTA's are splitting my first thought is always alk swings. In fact when I bred them, I would force splitting by quickly dropping the alk.

Those look hungry! Reef roids is not the food you want to be feeding them. I would look for some frozen mysis. You can take an extra step and soak it in amino acids for 15 minutes first when you dethaw it, but not everyone is willing to do that. IME you can feed anytime of day. I would target feed with a turkey baster.

Make sure the nem eats. You want to feed it a small amount every 3-4 days until the color really comes back. When they are bleached to that amount they can not feed themselves.

They've been eating pretty good for the last few months, been feeding mysis and tiny pink shrimp blend from hikari
