Hi from Spain, it's 6:45am and sleep is overrated . Glad to read that your reboot is going well, I will have to come past and see it when I get back. After seeing Richard's tank a few weeks ago and having some discussion with the OP it sparked some new inspiration in both of us. Aren't fish geek get togethers great. Hope to see the fruits of your 2 week break soon. Happy reefing/ holiday's.

So if there is another yellow I would be interested in him, my PBT lived over 15 years. I do feed heavy.
Gonna try and keep the last two.. been with me long haul...
I was at Seaside yesterday and said to the wife if they were cheap like they used to be I would have bought ALL the little yellows they had... 10+... But... Thatd be too rich for my blood these days ..

Broke down and ordered some custom aluminum extrusions to mount the new lights..
www.eztube.com for anyone wondering. Thanks @IvanW . Pretty cheap actually.
Should be here mid week? More photos coming soon, but its officially an SPS tank again...
Want to raid @LesPaulPlayer73 for some of the frags he has if possible while Im still on vacation...
Or... If someone has something super cool, hit me up. I have a big-ish tank in need of some cool corals. Can always meet at the upcoming SoCaliReefers meetup on 1/9....

Cool - I’ve never done aluminum stand stuff but would love to swap out one of my tanks one of these days. However, it’s such a daunting task trying to get all the parts!$&@. If you guys can share the parts list, that would be awesome! ;)

Not using 8020 which is what most people use for stands.. I'm (and i think @IvanW ) using a custom extrusion from EZTube that are designed to have a glass or similar insert.. basically a box metal with a flange. The flange will fit within the lip of the light fixture so i dont have to use a hanging kit. Again... Picture below..

My fiancé currently has a planted tank. What I thought would be rather easy turned out to be opposite of that just like saltwater tanks, its also trial and error. She has gone through her hardships to get it dialed in, and that took her about a year. She lost a good amount of fish within the first 6 months, plants as well. It's not saltwater seaslife, so not as expensive, but can still add up. Freshwater planted actually looks like fun. I will probably set up around a 30g somewhere down the road. Good luck on that build. Keep us on the loop with updates & pics

Small victory update...
The 120 soaked for a week+ in fresh water, skimmer and all misc stuff that was in it out for a citric acid soak. 2nd fill with fresh since I changed out ALL the media/filters in the RODI. Figured I use the run up water to give everything a nice 2nd rinse...
The 240 is still cruising along STILL waiting for FedEx to get my aluminum to SoCal so I can hang the lights... My "scheduled delivery" of last Friday 1/3 is apparently still in Illinois... Some day..
Mean time, all new reagents for all the text kits and a couple new Hannas...

Aaaaaaaaand shit... Was wondering why my ATO wasn't ATO-ing . Thought it might be the pump so I pulled it, opened it and looks brand new .. Then i go into the sump to see whats up.. all red lights... Not good... Opened it up and there is a sensor above the optical that is toast... Great .. you can buy a new pump, but apparently not the in-tank part.... Nobody ever said this hobby was cheap.....

I prefer the old one version better tbh. Even if the laser is bad, its float valve works very well. On these newer ones, guess you’re stuck. Perhaps reaching out to Roger @ Tunze for help?

Anyway, I’ve moved away from these ATO — they used to be reliable. All my tanks are now fed by Kamoer peristaltic pumps, way more reliable!

Yea, thought about calling Roger, but at this point... I need something yesterday.. i agree the old ones work better.. I have one of the old ones I am contemplating moving over from the 120, but .. I'll know better today. Im back at work, so things will happen at a different pace now...
I also have a Kamoer pump, but don't think its designed to be an ATO pump. Much lighter duty.
