While waiting for the 240 to slightly less cyano-y..
I decided to get up off my lazy azz and do a thing..

Definitely not even close to done, but at least it is closer that it was yesterday..
Only real issue is my return pump decided not to pump.. instead of running to the store to get a new one, I pulled a Sicce i used to circulate my mixing barrel. Its too small but I'll replace it sooner than later.
Now i need to swap the lights for the FW versions I have, plant the stupid thing, add fish, get some filter socks and about 1463624 other things to make this look like something..

Love it — that’s a nice setup! Also, that’s one sexy sump!!!

How is the tank supported? Looks like it’s hallow and supported from the edges only?

Standard whatever that guy's name is type DIY stand. There is a color coded diagram somewhere.. i build stuff for a living so something like this stand was super easy. Its supported around the perimeter. Its a glass tank with a rim, so thats all it really needs. Its shimmed perfectly level so should be good.
When I took the LPS tank down and pulled the sump, except for some dust, looks great. Take note to anyone reading, paint the bajezzus out of your stands and they'll blast a LONG time.
Sump was cleaned and repurposed feom the SPS tank. IceCap 36XL or something like that. Again, fit the bill nicely when i bought it. Built in 12 gallon ato reservoir, probe holders and a a few other bells and whistles. Don't remember the cost, but was leas than a lot of other manufacturers with more whiz bang for the dough.

Tank also has skins i made you can't see in the pix.
Matches the 240 which is immediately adjacent. Floating canopies are also the same material.
Only issue is the skin for the front of the this tank was made for a smaller 60 gallon I originally had in its place . I now use some black starboard I had laying around to cover the gap . Im ghetto and lazy, so i haven't gotten around to making a new front skin...

I’m not as talented as you. Therefore, I’ve skinned” my frag tank to try to match my other display tank using Home Depot’s melamine board - $48 + $12 vinyl adhesives from Amazon. ;)

and yes, I’ve applied 3+ layers worth of paint just in case!

Interesting to see someone go from salt to fresh, usually it’s the other way around. But I’ve seen some very cool planted tanks. I’m guessing that’s where you are going. It’s kind of crazy what breeders are doing in the freshwater side.

And keep going with the GFO, whatever you feel comfortable using and it’s getting the job done. I would say that fish issues with LC is overblown, most people were using the highly concentrated pool stuff, and got in trouble. There is definitely deposits, so it will need to be filtered out or removed. I have a big bottle of Phosban-L, I can make a small bottle for you to try if you want.

Might not be a bad idea to have just in case..

As far as salt to fresh, i did a planted tank a looong time ago.. i have seen some really beautiful planted tanks online as well as at Aquashella earlier this year . I had been acquiring the pieces and parts for the last year.. following in @Veinz footsteps finding deals where I could.. should be fun.. i figure if i can keep a reef thriving, i can probably keep some neons and plants alive .

I’ve been using PhosphateRx for a decade - no issues! It’s better to dose into filter socks or fleece roller. However, I’ve been dosing directly to the overflow without socks/fleece roller for almost 2 years.

For the big tank with 30+ fish, I dose into the 50mu fleece roller daily - also no issues!

Thanks again Tommy!!
I have a shopping list of things for todays pile of tank related stuff to do... Because ya know... Who needs money...
Had a nice chat with @Tommy Ngo when he was buy this morning... His direct quote "It's gonna be a while" yea... I know .. slow and steady wins the race . Tank currently very pissed thanks to ChemiClean, but it was a necessary evil.. high on the list is another carbon bag to pull the Chemi out of the tank now that it's done its job...
